Guildford Borough Fairtrade logoGuildford has been awarded Fairtrade borough status thanks to the joint efforts of local residents, organisations and Guildford’s Fairtrade steering group. Fairtrade makes a real difference to people’s lives. It guarantees farmers and workers in the developing world a fair price for their crops and products.

Events are organised by the Guildford Fairtrade steering group and supported by Guildford Borough Council. For more information on what it means being a Fairtrade borough please visit the Fairtrade website.

Continue to support Fairtrade by buying products with the Fairtrade mark

You can buy Fairtrade products in Guildford borough from a number of retail and catering outlets. We are currently updating the directory to list the outlets which stock and sell Fairtrade in the borough. Come and visit the Fairtrade stall at the monthly farmers’ market and stock up on plenty of Fairtrade products and crafts.

Book a free Fairtrade school assembly and find out why it’s important to buy products with the mark. Learn about some of the amazing projects that the Guildford Fairtrade group are supporting through the Guildford – Mukono (Uganda) link.

Take a step for Fairtrade: logoSchool children, local businesses, community groups and members of the public around Guildford all got involved in the annual two week event. There were opportunities to support and buy Fairtrade food and crafts at the local farmer’s market and the Fairtrade tombola event.

With over 2000 Fairtrade certified products now available, it’s easier than ever to change what you eat, drink and wear to support Fairtrade, and make a positive difference for the lives of millions of producers in developing countries.
